❈ …but then turned into a sweaty mess as soon as I started putting some good work in the garden. I got up this morning at around 7:30am and all I could think about was that I wanted to get my herb garden put in. There’s an area right by the door that leads to my kitchen that has the perfect amount of sunlight for an herb garden. At about 8am I went out and started digging. I didn’t even eat breakfast, I just started going at it. Here’s what it looked like before:

I dug out the 2 roses which I’m pretty sure are Knock-Out Roses and planted them in temporary landscapers pots. I want to save them but I’m not sure where I would like to plant them yet. There were so many weeds and thorny vines and I worked to get most of it up. Mrs Featherbottom came by to inspect my work and she was paid handsomely with beetles and earthworms.
At this point I was done being outside. Its so hot and humid. I am ready for fall. I got a fair amount done, enough to be proud of anyway. I’ll work on it some more tomorrow and add some compost then plant my herbs. The herbs I have so far are Lemon Verbena, Dill, Fennel, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme. I’ll definitely get more but that won’t be til spring. I’m so excited that I can actually plant these in the ground now. They’ve been in pots for a few years now and it warms my heart that they will be able to grow bigger. I can’t wait to see them when they fill out. Here is how the plot currently stands:

After I got back inside the house I showered then made some tea and played around with the camera. My husband, Chris, took a couple of really great pictures of our cats Mo and Loki.

The tea I’m drinking is from China. A while back I ordered a ton of tea from a company called Yunnan Sourcing. So far I’ve loved every tea I received. This one is Mengku “Big Snow Mountain” Black Tea Dragon Ball. It has an earthy deep flavor with a hint of astringency but in a good way and smells so good. I usually like to drink Oolongs and black teas but sometimes I’ll drink green tea especially if it has jasmine in it.

I still have a good amount of daylight left and chores to do. I’m going to go finish my tea on the porch. ❈
I absolutely love that you’re writing. Don’t stop and I promise to always follow. It’s therapeutic.
I love you dearly
